- Overclocking a quad core Author: Grga Curkovic Date: 30 May 2007
We really wanted to see how this board will perform with a quad core CPU since we didn?t have the time to try it out on CeBIT. Since the BIOS has some GTL related options we suspected it would be possible to achieve a nice overclock. After some failed tries we found that the top stable FSB is 400MHz. This may not sound as something special at first, but this is one of the best quad core overclocks we?ve ever done. DFI started to include an option for GTL+ reference value to their board and that?s why they tend to overclock the quad cores above average. To get the same effect on most other boards you need to mod them to regulate the GTL+ reference voltage.
