High-res gaming - 8800 Ultra in action - Testing setup

We used our standard testbed for graphics cards, consisting of:
- Intel Core 2 Duo E6700
- EVGA 680i SLI
- OCZ Platinum XTC PC2-8000, 2x1GB @ 800MHz, 4-4-4-12
- Western Digital RaptorX 150GB
- OCZ ProXstream 1000W

Benchmarking a single high end card at low resolutions such as 1280x1024 makes you run into CPU limitations all the time, and doing that with an SLI setup of two of the most powerful cards out there would be plain useless. So we decided to only benchmark with the highest resolution our Dell 3007WFP can support, 2560x1600. With three AA modes, 4x, 8x and 16x, we can see how SLI compares to a single card in the most demanding conditions.
