Take two or just amazing?

Today we'll take a look at Q1, Samsung's vision of an UMPC. With excellent screen, multimedia capabilities and just about everything user needs (note: just about everything), Q1 is really "something else". IF you were to appear somewhere with Q1 in your hands, we can guarantee you that it won't be unnoticed. It looks really beautiful, it has loads of possibilities, it's really thick, light and generally very well put together. But, let's take a deeper look...

Hardware base
512MB RAM, 8MB Video memory, Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005, 40GB hard drive, Intel's Celeron M 353 ULV (900MHz) and 29Wh battery are the base of this "looker" thing. The battery leaves a lot to be desired, working just a bit over three hours while watching a concert (3 hours 17 minutes to be exact). Now this is one of the things that makes you throw Q1 outta window. OK, it's thin, it's light, it's small, but battery life should be better. Let's hope this will be solved in the future. And, of course, there's this GPS thingy that's kind of lacking. You could do with some GPS device in the CF slot, but it would great if CF slot could be used for CF memory cards, not GPS. Now this might not be a "hardware", but Q1 has a stand on the rear that you can use in two positions - just slightly angled, and with a rather big angle. What we're afraid of is that this "stand" looks very fragile to us. Be careful with it.
