Conclusion
If you take a look back to the UMPC concept, you can see that Q1 is everything that UMPC is, and more. This thing went under our skin in a split second. If you can embrace the non-keyboard concept, if you need something just to show your stuff around, do lectures or just want to look ultra-cool, this is the thing for you. Now let me get back to "Hang In There Long Enough"? :-)
Pros:
- excellent thing for writing short emails or just reading them and browsing
- really amazing integration of all necessary tecnologies - Bluetooth, wireless, USB, Compact Flash...
- the screen quality absolutely rock for the intended usage - watching movies, browsing pictures, basic browsing of the 'net and documents
- very nice for taking short notes
- we're a real suckers for touchscreens
- VGA output
- very easy to restore
- USB network cable - works very fast and does the job well
- 100Mbit/s Ethernet connection
- amazing sound quality, even with the built-in speakers
- built-in dual microphone
Cons:
- unusable as a recording device except for the microphones - no stereo input - this feature would be rather cool (thanks, Tom!)
- it's really hard to get used to it
- maybe a little bit too-much PSP for us
- we'd like to see additional USB ports
- no camera
- no PCcard slot
- more battery power to the people, Scotty!
- it would be good to have additional 512MB of memory
- strange visual effects - not all programs "understand" screen resolution of the Q1
