Configuration

You can access the Fireface Settings application directly from the tray, by clicking on the red-yellow icon "RME". The application is actually very simple to use, and the design might be just a little bit too "old-fashioned", but I think this is actually a good approach. When you think about it, with all of these mixes, submixes, effects, TotalMixes and everything, Fireface is actually a failry bit complicated for a first time user. But that usually lasts for a couple of hours. So, it's nice to have an application that does the job while being very easy to use.

You can configure everything here - buffer size, phantom power, input level, clock mode, sampling frequency (by clicking on the "DDS" tab), and you can actually do that for (in our case) both of the Firefaces from the same application. We find this very handy, and you can actually use the same feature in the TotalMix - control all of your Firefaces from the same application. You can store your settings directly to your Fireface(s) and, when you turn it/them on the next time.
